Cleaning Machines

With all the throw up around last night I got out my original Little Green Clean Machine from Bissell and got ready to clean up the carpet. The water and cleaning solution came out properly and seemed to be getting sucked up, but when I checked the dirty water tank, it was dry as a bone. The sound the machine made was also a bit louder than I remembered it. At least there was some cleaning solution on the remains of the throw up so the house did not stink to high heaven this morning.

So, since Little Green bit the dust last night (early this morning) I ran out to Kohl’s and got their last new Little Green cleaner.

BISSELL 14005 LITTLE Green Compact Multi-Purpose Cleaner with TurboBrush

The one that bit the dust was an original one. I had to purchase the Turbo Brush as an accessory and I had to tape part of it together so it would work correctly. This new one comes with a Turbo brush which is much better than the first one. This one is constructed far more solidly and the transparent housing makes it quite easy to see that it is working properly. The recovery tank is easy to empty and rinse.

There is onboard hose storage that is much easier to use and the cord has quick release connectors. The first one you had to just wrap the cord around the bottom of the machine.

The tanks are also easier to install and remove. It’s been working great today and I hope it lasts a good long time.

A Few Hours Rest

After Little Guy finally fell asleep this morning and Daddy got up I was able to get a few hours myself. Little Guy hasn’t thrown up since about an hour before he fell asleep and he’s had some Rice Krispies and more Sierra Mist this morning.

We’ll go to the store and stock up on ingredients for the diet that is recommended for diarrhea.

The B.R.A.T. Diet:
B: Bananas
R: Rice
A: Applesauce
T: Toast (plain, no butter or jelly)

Mainly the diet is low fiber which is easier to digest. Saltines, cooked cereals, or cooked pasta can also be given.

Be sure to give lots of clear liquids to avoid dehydration.

Daddy did okay this morning giving the Little Guy Rice Krispies while I was asleep. Seems to be fairly within the parameters of the diet.

Little Guy’s held everything down to include this morning’s dose of Augmentin.

Up All Night

Little Guy went to sleep at 9 and woke up just after midnight and threw up. He’s thrown up again a few times since then and a little diarrhea. Poor little fella. So I’ve been watching Boobahs and Teletubbies and now Sesame Street (with Liam Neeson guesting) and doing loads and loads of laundry. He’s running out of pajamas! He said his belly was starving for breakfast, then ate half a cracker and said he was full. He’s thirsty but doesn’t want to sip at the warm (room temp) lemon-lime soda pop, he wants to gulp it down. I’m only giving him about a tablespoon at a time in a 3 ounce bathroom paper cup.

He got his first ear infection on Saturday. We went to the acute care center and were given a prescription for Augmentin and asked not to fill it until Sunday just in case he got better without it. He woke up at midnight in tears because his ear hurt and the children’s Tylenol had worn off. Then he woke up in pain again at 5 so we went to church and then got his prescription filled. He hates the stuff. He can’t take a pill yet so he’s on the suspension. We paid for the bubble gum flavor but he still doesn’t like it. I don’t blame him.

I’m going to get him another tablespoon or so of Sierra Mist and we’ll see how that goes (stays, of course, is what I want it to do). Dad’s getting some sleep and has the day off so maybe I’ll get a nap in a little later.

At least he waited until Christmas was over to get sick so his Christmas was great!

Christmas Hymn of the Day

What Child Is This?

What child is this, who, laid to rest
On Mary’s lap, is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh,
Come peasant king to own Him,
The King of kings, salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.
Raise, raise the song on high,
The Virgin sings her lullaby:
Joy, joy, for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Merry Christmas to all!

Christmas Hymn of the Day

Angels We Have Heard On High

Angels we have heard on high
Sweetly singing o’er the plains,
And the mountains in reply
Echoing their joyous strains.

Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!

Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be
Which inspire your heavenly song?

Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!

Come to Bethlehem and see
Christ Whose birth the angels sing;
Come, adore on bended knee,
Christ the Lord, the newborn King.

Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!

See Him in a manger laid,
Whom the choirs of angels praise;
Mary, Joseph, lend your aid,
While our hearts in love we raise.

Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!

Christmas Hymn of the Day

The Holly and the Ivy

The holly and the ivy,
When they are both full grown
Of all the trees that are in the wood
The holly bears the crown
O the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing of the choir

The holly bears a blossom
As white as lily flower
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ
To be our sweet Saviour
O the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing of the choir

The holly bears a berry
As red as any blood
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ
To do poor sinners good
O the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing of the choir

The holly bears a prickle
As sharp as any thorn;
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ
On Christmas Day in the morn.
O the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing of the choir

The holly bears a bark
As bitter as any gall;
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ
For to redeem us all.
O the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing of the choir

The holly and the ivy
Now both are full well grown,
Of all the trees that are in the wood,
The holly bears the crown.
O the rising of the sun
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ
Sweet singing of the choir

I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In

Christmas Hymn of the Day

I Saw Three Ships Come Sailing In

I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
I saw three ships come sailing in
On Christmas Day in the morning.

And what was in those ships all three,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day?
And what was in those ships all three,
On Christmas Day in the morning?

The Virgin Mary and Christ were there,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
The Virgin Mary and Christ were there,
On Christmas Day in the morning.

Pray, wither sailed those ships all three,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
Pray, wither sailed those ships all three,
On Christmas Day in the morning?

O they sailed into Bethlehem,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
O they sailed into Bethlehem,
On Christmas Day in the morning.

And all the bells on earth shall ring,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
And all the bells on earth shall ring,
On Christmas Day in the morning.

And all the Angels in Heaven shall sing,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
And all the Angels in Heaven shall sing,
On Christmas Day in the morning.

And all the souls on earth shall sing,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
And all the souls on earth shall sing,
On Christmas Day in the morning.

Then let us all rejoice again,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day;
Then let us all rejoice again,
On Christmas Day in the morning.

Ding Dong Merrily on High

Ding dong merrily on high,
In heav’n the bells are ringing:
Ding dong! verily the sky
Is riv’n with angel singing.
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!

E’en so here below, below,
Let steeple bells be swungen,
And “Io, io, io!”
By priest and people sungen.
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!

Pray you, dutifully prime
Your matin chime, ye ringers;
May you beautifully rime
Your evetime song, ye singers.
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!
