I looked outside this beautiful late winter day where it’s sunny and 67° F and found purple crocii sunbathing. My tulips are also poking their heads out of the soil. The daffodils are getting ready to bloom and the two allium I planted in the fall are also coming up.

The Little Guy is happy. We have to take Grandma to the airport later if her flight hasn’t been canceled.

Winter Garden Actvity

I glanced into the garden yesterday and saw these jonquils starting. They’re already more than 2 inches tall and it’s the last week of February, in the Greater Chicago-Milwaukee Metroplex. The rounder, green leaves are pachysandra – an evergreen groundcover.

One Year Ago Today – Madison

One year ago today we went to Madison to see the protests first hand.


It was a beautiful day.


We couldn’t get near the front. Too many people. I had tried to get video of the marchers circling the Statehouse, but my camera wasn’t on when I thought it was.

Althouse got a shot of my back when she was there, but I missed her and Meade… 🙁


I’m just to the right of the teal knit hat. In the purple coat with the gray hood hanging down. If only I’d turned around just then…
