Mark in Mexico has been covering this since it started more than five months ago. Go to his site and scroll down.
The situation has been out of hand since it started and it should have been dealt with months ago.

We were driving yesterday and passed a car that had the three passengers holding lawn signs for the Green Party Candidate for Governor of Illinois Rich Whitney.
My little guy asked what the signs were.
I told him they were for a candidate for Governor. The man wanted people to vote for him on election day.
He said I shouldn’t vote on election day and I asked him why.
He said he doesn’t like the big Tootsie Rolls. I asked what that had to do with election day.
He said it was the Candy Vote and he didn’t want me to vote for the Tootsie Rolls.
He heard Candy Vote instead of Candidate and vote…
Ah well, he’s not quite six.
I did this on a white pumpkin. It turned out wonderfully!
Patterns from jack-o-lantern.com Thanks Guys!

Her lampshade collar looks so like the bowl of a martini glass that I had to make her a pimento stuffed olive to go with it…

Our village has trick-or-treating tomorrow afternoon.
Don’t forget to set the clocks back!
Welcome Electric Venom and Wizbang! readers. Thanks Kate and Lorie. Please have a look around.
Check out the skull-o-lantern!
Quick Poll:
I’ll keep the poll up through the weekend.
Update (10/27): So far there are 6 votes and all six voted yes, the voter can produce a photo ID if asked at the polls. This is completely unscientific, but I think that, of actual voters, the number that can produce an ID, while not 100%, is closer to 100% than the percentage opponents of Voter ID laws would have you believe.
Back in October 2004, Vice Presidential Aspirant and Candidate John Edwards in Newton, IA said
[Reeve, who died Sunday], “was a powerful voice for the need to do stem cell research and change the lives of people like him.
“If we do the work that we can do in this country, the work that we will do when John Kerry is president, people like Christopher Reeve will get up out of that wheelchair and walk again.”
Once again Stem Cell Research and Therapy is being conflated with Embryonic Stem Cell Research.
My daughter has epilepsy, developmental delays, and has recently been diagnosed with Lupus as well. Stem cell research may one day prove a benefit to her. Adult or cord blood stem cells.
The Anchoress notes that there are 72 successful applications with adult stem cell therapies and 0 embryonic therapies.
There are NO bans on stem cell research of any stripe. Federal (and only Federal) funding of embryonic stem cell research is currently limited to existing stem cell lines. There is nothing to prevent private funding of new lines. Nothing other than success rates in embryonic stem cell research. Private funding brings with it hopes of a return on investment. Federal funding needs no such guarantees.
Appeal to Sympathy is a logical fallacy no matter who the sympathetic figure is.
