As if anyone would confuse Teachbook with Facebook. Facebook is saying they have a trademark in the “book” part… What do you think?
Teachbook.com has two employees and fewer than 20 users signed up for its free Web community. The site has yet to officially launch.
But the Northbrook, Ill.-based company, which provides tools for teachers to manage their classrooms and share lesson plans and other resources, has been thrust into the spotlight by social networking giant Facebook, which sued the start-up for using “book” in its name.
Facebook, which was founded in 2004 and has more than 500 million users, filed its trademark infringement lawsuit in U.S. district court in San Jose last week, asserting that the “book” part of its name is “highly distinctive in the context of online communities and networking websites.”
For years Sararose Krenger and her family joked that alligators lived near their Ravenswood Gardens’ home along the Chicago River.
On Sunday Krenger, 22, and her family were on their boat traveling the river when their joke became a reality. They spotted a three-to-five-foot alligator basking in the sun along the bank of the North Branch of the Chicago River just north of Belmont Avenue.

John Hawkins at Right Wing News tells us about a raffle being held by Society of Saint Vincent De Paul.
The grand prize includes 4 days in New York, a $3000 shopping spree, and a meeting with Bill O’Reilly. Heck, third prize is 2 Super Bowl tickets! They’re charging a $100 bucks a pop for the raffle tickets — and of course, the money they make will go to their charity.
So go see John’s post and, as they say, read it all.

We went downtown yesterday to see what we could see of the filming. This is a setup on Wacker Drive, a vehicle crushed by fallen building parts.

We saw a bit of filming when we were down on the river. At the water taxi stop (which was not in use this weekend because of the filming) we saw a bunch of actors portraying soldiers fighting and then retreating from something we couldn’t see…
