Monday Photos – Week 45

The Berlin Wall fell thirty years ago. I was in Germany at the time. This is my little piece of it.

Veterans’ Day 2019

Armistice Day, Veterans’ Day, Remembrance Day

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month…

In Flanders Fields

poppy

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe;
To you, from failing hands, we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Leafwing Butterfly.

I love living here in the Smokies in East Tennessee. So many new little visitors at our house!

Daylight Saving Time Ends

It’s that time of year again and we switch back to Standard Time here in the States (except for Arizona, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico – they never switched to Daylight Saving Time).

And it is Daylight SAVING Time, the word isn’t plural.

We need to stay with Standard time. The sun will be overhead at Noon.

My dogs and cats won’t be mad at me because they’re hungry tomorrow at 4:00 and they think it’s 5:00 and I tell them to wait until dinner in another hour.
