Speaker of the House

I was looking at the Constitution in an older government textbook (the last election in the text is 1988). It lists paragraph 5 of Section 2 of Article 1 of the Constitution : The House of Representatives shall choose their Speaker and other officers; and shall have the sole Power of Impeachment.

Then, in the margin notes it states that the Speaker is chosen by the House and The Speaker does not have to be a member of the House, but by custom always has been.

Since the Speaker doesn’t have to be a member - I nominate Glenn Reynolds to the post!
