A Response?

May 13, 2006 – 10:35 am by kimsch

The President’s weekly radio address (transcript and audio available here) was all about Gen. Mike Hayden’s nomination to head the CIA and the legality of the NSA surveillance.

Even the guy on the radio couldn’t quite call the Democrats’ programming a “response”. The announcer on WBBM 780 Chicago said, “That was the Democrats’ re…weekly radio address.”

I can’t find a transcript of the “response” yet, but here is a story from the Palm Beach Post about the response and who’s to give it.

State Senator Ron Klein gave a 4 or so minute diatribe about the Medicare Drug program that was also a 4 minute campaign commercial for Senator Klein.

There was absolutely nothing said about Gen. Hayden, the NSA, or anything that be called a “response” to what was said by President Bush this morning.

Is a four minute nationally broadcast campaign commercial even legal?
